Here is Jacques Villeneuve, this athlete has a had a great racing career thus far. His father Gilles was tragically killed in a crash so Jacques proudly races in the memory of his late father. Jacques won the indycar championship in 1995 for Players racing. Of note the season before his winning season Jacques won rookie of the year honours. Then he switched to formula 1, where he hooked up with Frank Williams in the Williams Renault team. Jacques also won rookie of the year in his first formula 1 season, then 2 years ago captured the championship! Above is a picture of Jacques rasing his trophy. Last year was a disappointing year for Jacques, but the positives by far outweigh the negatives, and with his new team British America racing (BAR) Villeneuve could once again rise to the top.
Next is Greg Moore. Greg is a young outstanding driver for the Players team, he's been there for a while now. Above you see him in race action. This past year Greg was in contention for the Cart championship but fell off the pace of Brazilian Alex Zanardi, yet he had many strong races, his best was winning the U.S 500. Greg should continue to improve this coming season and hopefully bring a championship home to Canada.
Here was have Paul Tracy. I like him for his grit and overall toughness. He races in CART and has won several races in his career. He started with Penske and then made a move to Team Kool Green to be teammates with Dario Franchitti. Paul is knocked for being a reckless driver at times, but I say he's just a fierce competitor. Success could be in Paul's very near future, after he just signed a new deal, things are looking up.
Patrick Carpentier, another good Canadian driver in Cart. Patrick started out 2 years ago with Ross Bentley's team, last year he made the move to Player's. In his first year he turned some heads, almost winning rookie of the year honours. Last year was an ok year for Patrick, he had some good races and qualified with some very good times from time to time. I feel with a year or two more under his belt Carpentier could be challenging for a championship.
